A charming late 19th century antique French Louis XV Revival bedside cabinet, crafted in solid oak and retaining its original rouge marble top with striking white veining.

The cabinet is fitted with a single drawer above a cupboard enclosed by a shaped panel door, all standing on elegant carved cabriole legs with decorative shell and foliate carving to the knees and apron. The original turned brass knobs remain in place.

The oak has been professionally stripped and finished in a soft limed wax, giving the piece a lighter contemporary appearance while allowing the attractive grain and carving to stand out. The original marble top is in good antique condition with minor age-related wear and a rich, warm colour that contrasts beautifully with the limed oak.

Originally designed as a French table de nuit (bedside cabinet), this versatile piece now works equally well as a bedside table, lamp cabinet or occasional cabinet in both period and contemporary interiors.

Condition

Very good antique condition. Structurally sound with a smooth-running drawer and cupboard door. Minor wear and marks consistent with age. The stripped and limed finish is later than the original and has been sympathetically executed.
