A lovely late 19th/early 20th-century copper-plated and leather fireside seat/storage box in the Art Nouveau style. The little seat/storage box was originally the right-hand side of a fire fender that was dismantled. The little seat's leather, on top, has a wonderful patina. The inside compartment is perfect for kindling, matches, gloves and all paraphernalia needed around a wood-burning fire. The copper plate has been rubbed over the years with the base metal showing through in places but it does not distract from the wonderful character and charm of this great little seat.
